The Musical Suites project at 415 Elmwood Avenue is an adaptive reuse of the former Community Music School building combined with an urban infill of the adjoining parking lot. Located at the southern edge of the historic Elmwood Village between Bryant Street and Summer Avenue, the existing building was converted into a mixed-use structure that features a small ground floor commercial space and 12 one-bedroom apartments. On the quarter-acre surface parking lot directly to the south of the existing building, a new sister building was erected that preserves and covers 19 parking spots for residents with a total of 10 one-bedroom apartments on the second and third floors.
The two buildings, which are physically integrated, comply with historic design guidelines and meet building code requirements.
