The circa 1921 building was formerly a Liberty Bank branch, then Bank of America. After being shuttered for a number of years, Schneider Development Services acquired it in 2017.
The building includes numerous significant architectural details including stained-glass windows, plaster ceilings, and terrazzo flooring. The original walk-in vaults are all still in place, as are the security boxes.
Schneider Development Services began restoring the building in 2019 when it was awarded a Better Buffalo Fund grant – the grant was used to clean up the interior, remediate asbestos, and restore the stained-glass windows.
A full-scale rehabilitation of the building is expected in the near future.
